- 1 cup of butter, softened
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the sugar and butter in a bowl until smooth.
- Gradually blend in the flour, mixing until a cohesive dough forms.
- Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and arrange them on an ungreased cookie sheet, leaving space between each ball.
- Flatten each ball using the bottom of a glass, and sprinkle additional sugar on top if desired.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, keeping an eye on them until they turn golden.
- Allow the cookies to cool on wire racks.
Notes
For a richer flavor, brown the butter before mixing, and consider chilling the dough for easier handling.
