- 2/3 cup + 3 tablespoons granulated sugar, divided
- 2 cups + 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
- 1 teaspoon vanilla (optional)
- Rainbow sprinkles or nonpareils (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, beat together the butter and 2/3 cup sugar until well combined.
- Gradually mix in the flour and the optional vanilla until thoroughly blended.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and coat each ball with the remaining sugar.
- Flatten each ball slightly and sprinkle on your choice of sprinkles.
- Bake the cookies for 14-16 minutes or until they achieve a golden hue.
- Allow them to rest for a few minutes before transferring to a cooling rack to cool completely.
Notes
For chewier cookies, slightly under-bake them. For uniform cookies, use a cookie scoop to portion out the dough.
