  • 2/3 cup + 3 tablespoons granulated sugar, divided
  • 2 cups + 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla (optional)
  • Rainbow sprinkles or nonpareils (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat together the butter and 2/3 cup sugar until well combined.
  3. Gradually mix in the flour and the optional vanilla until thoroughly blended.
  4. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and coat each ball with the remaining sugar.
  5. Flatten each ball slightly and sprinkle on your choice of sprinkles.
  6. Bake the cookies for 14-16 minutes or until they achieve a golden hue.
  7. Allow them to rest for a few minutes before transferring to a cooling rack to cool completely.

Notes
