A quick and easy recipe for crispy Mongolian beef made with tender flank steak, garlic, ginger, and a sweet soy sauce glaze.

- 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Coat the sliced flank steak in cornstarch and set aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
- Add the beef in batches, cooking until crispy and browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove beef from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add garlic and ginger, sauté for 30 seconds.
- Add soy sauce, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes; stir until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Return the beef to the pan and toss to coat in the sauce.
- Garnish with green onions before serving.
Notes
Let the beef rest after frying to improve crispness. Pair with steamed rice or lo mein noodles for a complete meal.
