Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, sour cream, milk, flour, baking powder, a bit of vanilla extract, and a touch of salt. Stir until you achieve a consistent batter.
- Pour the mixture into a microwave-safe cake pan that has been greased. Heat in the microwave for 5 to 8 minutes, checking after 5 minutes. The cake is ready when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out without any batter.
- Allow the cake to cool entirely before applying the frosting.
- Using an electric mixer, blend together the room temperature butter, 1-1/2 cups of powdered sugar, a tablespoon of milk, and a dash of vanilla extract until the mixture is creamy.
