Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs (Plain or seasoned)
  • 1 Egg (Beaten)
  • 1 Onion (Finely diced)
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 3 tbsp Butter (Salted or unsalted)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, diced onion, salt, and pepper. Form into 6-8 oval-shaped patties.
  2. Heat an oven-safe skillet over medium heat and brown the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté sliced onions for about 2 minutes.
  4. Add flour and stir for another 2 minutes, then whisk in beef broth and heavy cream until combined.
  5. Return the browned patties to the skillet, cover, and bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.
  6. Uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Let the formed patties rest before cooking to retain moisture. Adjust seasonings to your taste.
