Description

A comforting dish that combines ground beef, savory mushrooms, and creamy mashed potatoes, bringing warmth and simplicity to any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, adding the chopped onion and mushrooms until softened. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in the beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  4. In a greased baking dish, layer the beef mixture on the bottom, followed by a layer of mashed potatoes on top.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until heated through and slightly golden.
  6. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For best flavor, use freshly made mashed potatoes. Consider adding cheese during the last few minutes of baking for a gooey crust.
