  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (15 ml)
  • 2 apples, cored and sliced
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (5 g)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (15 ml)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season chicken thighs with salt and black pepper.
  3. Sear chicken thighs in the skillet until browned on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  4. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add sliced onion and sauté until translucent, about 3 minutes.
  6. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute.
  7. Pour in chicken broth and apple juice, stirring to combine.
  8. Stir in apple cider vinegar, ground cinnamon, and honey.
  9. Return chicken thighs to the skillet.
  10. Add sliced apples and fresh thyme sprigs to the skillet.
  11. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  12. Cover the skillet and reduce heat to low.
  13. Braise chicken for 25-30 minutes, or until fully cooked and tender.
  14. Remove thyme sprigs before serving.
  15. Serve chicken with braised apples and sauce.
