  • 5 teaspoon (3 ml) salt
  • 5 teaspoon (3 ml) ground cloves
  • 2 apples – peeled, cored and chopped

Instructions

  1. Set your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and allow it to heat up. Lightly coat an 8×4-inch loaf pan with oil.
  2. In a large bowl, combine sugar and oil by using an electric mixer until you achieve a smooth, creamy blend; add the eggs and mix well.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, and cloves by sifting them together; blend this dry mix into the creamy mixture until just combined. Gently fold in the chopped apples, then pour the batter into the greased loaf pan.
  4. Place in the preheated oven and bake until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out without any batter, approximately 1 hour. Let the bread cool in the pan for 15 minutes before turning it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
