Ingredients

  • 7 slices of regular thin bacon (not thick cut)
  • 12 ounces of fresh asparagus
  • 2 teaspoons of olive oil
  • Fresh ground pepper
  • Kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F.
  2. Line a baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup and set a rack inside.
  3. Snap off the woody ends of the asparagus.
  4. Toss the asparagus with olive oil and season lightly with kosher salt and fresh ground pepper.
  5. Group the asparagus into bunches of 3-5 spears.
  6. Wrap each bunch with a slice of bacon, starting near the bottom and working up the spears, leaving the very tips exposed.
  7. Arrange the bundles on the rack in the baking sheet, ensuring they have space to crisp.
  8. Top with additional fresh cracked black pepper if desired.
  9. Bake on the upper rack for 10-15 minutes, allowing the bacon to become crisp and the asparagus tender.
