- 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- Additional melted butter for brushing
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix yeast, warm milk, and sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add butter, egg, salt, and flour. Knead until smooth and elastic.
- Let dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Shape into rolls, place in a baking pan, and let rise again for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 375°F for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Brush with melted butter and serve warm.
Notes
- Make sure your milk is warm but not hot to properly activate the yeast.
- For softer rolls, store in an airtight container.
- Can be made ahead and frozen for up to 2 months.
- Best served fresh and warm from the oven.
