Ingredients
Scale
- 120 g (4.2 oz) Rolled oats
- 1 cup (240 ml) Milk hot
- 2 Bananas ripe
- 2 Eggs large
- 3 tablespoon s (25 g) Cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) Baking powder
- 5 oz (100 g) Dark chocolate
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) Milk
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) Nuts of choice
Instructions
- ▢ Preparation: Set your oven to 180C (350F) and lightly coat an 8-inch (20cm) round baking dish with grease, then put it aside.
- ▢ Create the mixture: Combine rolled oats with milk in a large mixing bowl, letting them soak for a quarter of an hour.
- ▢ In a different bowl, squash the bananas, introduce the eggs, and whisk until fully integrated. Stir in cocoa powder and baking powder, mixing well. If a sweeter taste is desired, add a sweetener of your choice.
- ▢ Incorporate the soaked oats into the banana mixture and stir until everything is well-blended.
- ▢ Baking: Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and cook for 25-30 minutes or until the cake is firm.
- ▢ Let the cake rest for 5 minutes, then remove it from the baking dish and let it cool down entirely.
- ▢ Prepare the chocolate topping (optional): Chop the dark chocolate and place it in a heat-resistant bowl. Pour hot milk over it, let it sit for 1-2 minutes, then stir until melted and smooth. Drizzle the chocolate over the cooled cake.
- ▢ Finely chop the nuts and scatter them over the cake.
- ▢ Serve the cake and enjoy!
Notes
- Use ripe bananas for enhanced sweetness in the cake.
- Experiment with various nuts for added texture and flavor.
- Cool the cake completely before adding the dark chocolate topping to prevent melting.
