- 12 tablespoons (¾ cup or 170 grams) softened salted butter
- ⅔ cup (134 grams) granulated white sugar
- 2 cups (240 grams) all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, add the softened butter.
- Pour in the granulated sugar and mix with an electric mixer on medium speed for 4 to 5 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Gradually add half of the flour and mix on low speed until just combined.
- Add the remaining flour and mix until the mixture forms a crumbly dough.
- Form the dough into small balls, about 1.5 tablespoons each, and roll them in additional granulated sugar if desired.
- Space the dough balls 2 to 3 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for 14 to 16 minutes until the edges are light golden brown and the centers remain pale and soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.
