Description
Warm and comforting bread pudding, infused with cinnamon and vanilla, perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients

- 1 16 oz loaf French bread
- 5 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1 cup heavy cream (for sauce)
- 1 Tbs flour
- 1/2 cup sugar (for sauce)
- 4 Tbs butter (for sauce)
- 1 tsp vanilla (for sauce)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Spray a 9″x13″ baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
- Cut the bread into 1″-2″ squares and add to a large bowl.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk, cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg until fully combined.
- Pour the custard mixture over the bread and stir gently to coat all pieces. Allow the bread to soak for about 20 minutes.
- Spread the soaked bread evenly in the baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 50-60 minutes, until the center is set and firm but still custardy.
- In a separate saucepan, whisk together sugar, flour, and heavy cream until thoroughly combined. Add in the butter and heat over medium until the butter melts and the mixture begins to boil.
- Continue whisking until it thickens slightly, then remove from heat and stir in the remaining vanilla.
- Drizzle this sauce over the warm bread pudding and enjoy!
Notes
Feel free to add chocolate or dried fruits for a twist on the classic recipe.
