- 1 prime rib roast
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup beef broth
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Rub the prime rib roast with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, fresh rosemary, and fresh thyme.
- Place the roast bone-side down in a roasting pan.
- Roast in the preheated oven for 20 minutes to develop a crust.
- Reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (165°C) and continue cooking until the internal temperature reaches 130°F for medium-rare.
- Remove from the oven and let the roast rest for at least 20 minutes before carving.
- Serve with beef broth poured over the top.
