Ingredients

  • 1 prime rib roast
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup beef broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. Rub the prime rib roast with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, fresh rosemary, and fresh thyme.
  3. Place the roast bone-side down in a roasting pan.
  4. Roast in the preheated oven for 20 minutes to develop a crust.
  5. Reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (165°C) and continue cooking until the internal temperature reaches 130°F for medium-rare.
  6. Remove from the oven and let the roast rest for at least 20 minutes before carving.
  7. Serve with beef broth poured over the top.
