- 2 lbs Russet or Yukon Gold potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a medium baking dish.
- Wash and peel the potatoes, then thinly slice them for uniformity.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Layer the sliced potatoes in the greased baking dish, pouring cream mixture and sprinkling cheddar cheese over each layer.
- Top with panko breadcrumbs and sliced butter.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
Let the dish rest for a few minutes after baking for easier serving. Consider adding fresh herbs for added flavor.
