Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Russet or Yukon Gold potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a medium baking dish.
  2. Wash and peel the potatoes, then thinly slice them for uniformity.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
  4. Layer the sliced potatoes in the greased baking dish, pouring cream mixture and sprinkling cheddar cheese over each layer.
  5. Top with panko breadcrumbs and sliced butter.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes until golden brown.
