- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) (2.5 grams) paprika
- 3 cups (720 ml) (300 grams) shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 cups (960 ml) (200 grams) cubed bread
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) (30 grams) chopped green onions
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the turkey sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned.
- Drain any excess fat from the cooked sausage.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- Add the cooked sausage to the egg mixture and stir to combine.
- Mix in the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped green onions.
- Place the cubed bread evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Pour the egg and sausage mixture over the bread cubes, ensuring even coverage.
- Gently press down on the bread to help it absorb the liquid.
- Let the casserole sit for 10 minutes to allow the bread to soak up the mixture.
- Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden and the eggs are set.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Ensure the beef sausage is fully cooked before adding it to the egg mixture to avoid any raw meat.
- Use high-quality cheddar cheese for a flavorful and decadent casserole.
- Allow the casserole to rest for 10 minutes before baking so the bread cubes can fully soak up the egg mixture.
