Delicious brown butter cookies with a perfect chewy texture and rich, nutty flavor.
Ingredients
- Unsalted butter (for browning)
- Granulated sugar
- Brown sugar
- All-purpose flour
- Eggs
- Vanilla extract
- Baking soda
- Salt (¼ teaspoon if using salted butter, ½ teaspoon if using unsalted)
- Optional mix-ins (chocolate chips, nuts, etc.)
Instructions
- Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until amber in color with brown bits at the bottom. Let cool.
- Cream together the browned butter and sugars until well combined.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract, mix well.
- Combine dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients.
- Chill dough for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat oven and place dough balls on cool baking sheets.
- Bake until golden brown.

- Ensure butter is properly cooled before mixing
