- 1.5 lbs lean ground beef
- 1 yellow onion, diced
- 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
- 10.5 oz condensed cheddar soup
- 10.5 oz condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 box Cheddar Bay Biscuit mix
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (for biscuit batter)
- 2 cups milk (1 cup for biscuit batter and 1 cup for filling)
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 packet seasoning from Cheddar Bay Biscuit mix
- Fresh chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Place the ground beef into a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the diced onions and chopped garlic to the skillet with the ground beef. Cook until browned and onions are softened.
- Stir in the condensed cheddar soup, cream of mushroom soup, 1/2 cup milk, salt, and pepper until combined and heated through.
- Mix in 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese into the beef mixture and remove from heat.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and spray a 9 x 13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- Pour the ground beef mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish, then sprinkle another cup of shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the biscuit mix, 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, and 1 cup milk. Stir until smooth.
- Pour the biscuit batter evenly over the ground beef and cheese layers.
- Bake for 50 to 55 minutes until the biscuit topping is golden brown.
- Brush the melted butter mixed with the seasoning packet over the warm biscuit topping and allow to rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with parsley before serving.

For added flavor, consider using fresh herbs or spices such as paprika or cayenne pepper.
