Ingredients

  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  • 10.5 oz condensed cheddar soup
  • 10.5 oz condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 box Cheddar Bay Biscuit mix
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (for biscuit batter)
  • 2 cups milk (1 cup for biscuit batter and 1 cup for filling)
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 packet seasoning from Cheddar Bay Biscuit mix
  • Fresh chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the ground beef into a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the diced onions and chopped garlic to the skillet with the ground beef. Cook until browned and onions are softened.
  3. Stir in the condensed cheddar soup, cream of mushroom soup, 1/2 cup milk, salt, and pepper until combined and heated through.
  4. Mix in 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese into the beef mixture and remove from heat.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F and spray a 9 x 13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  6. Pour the ground beef mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish, then sprinkle another cup of shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  7. In a mixing bowl, combine the biscuit mix, 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, and 1 cup milk. Stir until smooth.
  8. Pour the biscuit batter evenly over the ground beef and cheese layers.
  9. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes until the biscuit topping is golden brown.
  10. Brush the melted butter mixed with the seasoning packet over the warm biscuit topping and allow to rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with parsley before serving.
