- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes, sliced
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cups shredded cheese (Cheddar or choice)
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until soft.
- Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture with sliced potatoes, cream of mushroom soup, milk, shredded cheese, salt, and pepper.
- Stir until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish for even cooking.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle additional cheese on top, and bake for another 15 minutes until the cheese melts and becomes bubbly.
Notes
Allow the casserole to sit for 5-10 minutes after baking to make serving easier. Garnish with fresh herbs for color.
