A comforting dish combining the flavors of a classic cheeseburger with the delightful texture of orzo pasta, perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic until the beef is browned.
  2. Drain excess fat from the skillet.
  3. Stir in the orzo, beef broth, diced tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover.
  5. Cook for about 10-12 minutes or until the orzo is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the cheddar cheese until melted.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve.

Notes

For extra flavor, brown the beef with a pinch of smoked paprika or add a dash of hot sauce. Customize with vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms.
