- 1 lb chicken breast, minced or finely chopped
- 2 cups cabbage, shredded
- 1 cup carrots, grated or finely chopped
- 4 green onions, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 10 egg roll wrappers
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Heat a pan over medium heat and add a splash of oil.
- Sauté the minced garlic until fragrant.
- Add the minced chicken to the pan, cooking until no longer pink.
- Stir in the shredded cabbage, grated carrots, and sliced green onions.
- Add soy sauce and sesame oil, cooking for a few more minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
- Lay an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface, with a corner pointing towards you.
- Place about two tablespoons of the chicken filling in the center of the wrapper.
- Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll up tightly.
- Repeat the process with the remaining wrappers and filling.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the egg rolls in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
Notes
Keep the filling cool before wrapping to prevent tearing. Use water to seal edges and avoid overcrowding the frying pan.
