Description

Crispy and flavorful Chinese egg rolls filled with a delightful mixture of ground chicken or shrimp, cabbage, and carrots, perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground chicken or shrimp
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Egg roll wrappers
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add a splash of oil and sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  2. Add the ground chicken or shrimp, cooking until fully cooked through.
  3. Stir in the cabbage, carrots, and green onions, cooking until the vegetables soften.
  4. Season with soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well and remove from heat.
  5. Lay out an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface. Place a spoonful of the filling near one corner.
  6. Fold the corner over the filling, then fold the sides in tightly. Roll it up to secure.
  7. Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer. Fry the egg rolls until golden brown and crispy on all sides.
  8. Drain on paper towels before serving.

Notes

To enhance crunchiness, avoid overcrowding the frying pan and serve with dipping sauces for added flavor.
