- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 cup cold unsalted butter
- ½ cup ice water
- 1 cup fruit jam or preserves
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar (for glaze)
Instructions
- Mix flour, salt, and sugar in a large bowl.
- Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add ice water gradually, mixing until dough forms.
- Chill dough for 1 hour.
- Roll out dough and cut into rectangles.
- Add filling to half the rectangles, cover with remaining dough.
- Seal edges with a fork and brush with egg wash.
- Bake at 375°F for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
