- Milk, 2 tablespoons (30 ml) (30 milliliters)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour, instant yeast, granulated sugar, and salt.
- Add warm water to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Punch down the risen dough and divide it into four equal parts.
- Roll each part into a rope about 1/2 inch thick.
- Cut each rope into 1-inch pieces to form pretzel bites.
- In a pot, dissolve baking soda in 4 cups of hot water.
- Dip each pretzel bite into the baking soda solution for 10-15 seconds, then place on the baking sheet.
- Bake the pretzel bites in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
- While the pretzel bites bake, mix melted butter, ground cinnamon, and brown sugar in a small bowl.
- Remove the baked pretzel bites from the oven and brush them with the cinnamon sugar butter mixture.
- To make the maple dip, combine powdered sugar, pure maple syrup, and milk in a bowl.
- Whisk the maple dip ingredients until smooth and well combined.
- Serve the cinnamon sugar pretzel bites warm with the maple dip on the side.
Notes
- Consider using brown sugar for a richer flavor in the dough.
- Enhance cinnamon flavor by sprinkling ground cinnamon on top before baking.
- Adjust maple dip sweetness with more or less powdered sugar to taste.
