- 1 1/4 cup (300 ml) s all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (240 ml) old-fashioned oats
- 2 cup (480 ml) s flaked coconut
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) salt
- 3/4 cup (180 ml) brown sugar
- 1 cup (240 ml) butter softened
- 1 egg lightly beaten
- 12 oz (340 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 14 oz (397 g) sweetened condensed milk
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) Karo® Light Corn Syrup
- 8 oz (227 g) toffee bits
Instructions
- Set your oven to 350°F to warm up.
- In a large mixing bowl with an electric mixer, blend together the flour, oats, coconut, and brown sugar at a low speed.
- Add in the butter and continue blending until you achieve a crumbly texture. Pour in the egg and mix thoroughly. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Set aside 1-1/2 cups of the dough for later use as a topping. Press the remaining dough evenly into the base of a lightly greased 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
- Bake for 10 minutes.
- In a separate small bowl, mix the sweetened condensed milk with the corn syrup until they are well combined.
- Spread this mixture evenly over the hot crust.
- Evenly distribute the toffee bits on top.
- Cover with the dough you set aside earlier, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for another 25 to 30 minutes until it reaches a golden brown color. Allow it to cool and then slice into bars.
