- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (seasoned for additional flavor)
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and prepare a baking dish by lightly greasing it with olive oil.
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Combine the cottage cheese with salt and pepper in a medium bowl, mixing until well blended.
- Dip each chicken breast into the cottage cheese mixture, coating both sides, then transfer it to the breadcrumbs and press the breadcrumbs onto the chicken.
- Place the breaded chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish and drizzle a little olive oil over the top.
- Spoon marinara sauce generously over each breast, then add a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese and a sprinkling of Parmesan.
- Bake the chicken for 25-30 minutes or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Remove from the oven, let it rest for a few minutes, and garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
Notes
For even cooking, pound the chicken to a uniform thickness. Customize flavors with spices like garlic powder or Italian seasoning.
