Description
A quick and easy comfort food that brings warmth and flavor to your table with a rich, creamy garlic sauce enveloping pasta.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz fettuccine or spaghetti
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente according to package instructions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.
- In a medium skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Pour in the heavy cream and whisk to combine. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Continue to whisk until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat. If the sauce is too thick, gradually add the reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is reached.
- Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
For a lighter version, consider using half-and-half instead of heavy cream. Fresh herbs or a squeeze of lemon juice can enhance the flavors.
