Description

A delightful creamy steak pasta dish with tender steak, garlic, and a rich sauce that’s perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces fettuccine or penne pasta
  • 1 pound sirloin or ribeye steak, thinly sliced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Additional grated parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil the pasta in a large pot of salted water according to package instructions. Drain well and reserve 1/2 cup of the cooking water for later.
  2. Season the thinly sliced steak pieces generously with salt and black pepper.
  3. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the olive oil. Sear the steak pieces until browned and cooked to your desired doneness, approximately 2–3 minutes per side. Once done, remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Lower the heat to medium and add the unsalted butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until aromatic and slightly golden.
  5. Deglaze the skillet by pouring in the beef broth, scraping any browned bits from the bottom. Allow it to simmer for about 2 minutes.
  6. Add the heavy cream and grated parmesan cheese to the skillet. Stir regularly and simmer for another 3–4 minutes until the sauce thickens. If you enjoy a bit of heat, sprinkle in the crushed red pepper flakes.
  7. Add the drained pasta to the sauce, tossing to ensure it is fully coated. Incorporate the reserved pasta water if needed to adjust the sauce’s consistency.
  8. Finally, return the cooked steak to the skillet and gently combine all the ingredients.
  9. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped fresh parsley and additional grated parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

For a lighter option, consider substituting half of the heavy cream with half-and-half or whole milk.
