Description
A comforting dish that combines creamy white cheddar with Cajun spices and tender steak, perfect for family dinners and gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces penne pasta
- 1 pound lean steak (such as sirloin or flank)
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded white cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the penne according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Season the steak with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the steak and sear until cooked to your liking. Remove from the pan and allow to rest.
- In the same skillet, pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
- Stir in the shredded white cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
- Slice the steak into strips and return it to the skillet. Combine with the cream sauce.
- Add the penne to the skillet and toss until evenly coated in the sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
Marinate the steak in Cajun seasoning for enhanced flavor. Use block cheddar for a creamier sauce. Keep an eye on cooking times to prevent overcooking the steak or pasta.
