  • Garlic powder, 1 teaspoon (5 ml) (5 grams)
  • Onion powder, 1 teaspoon (5 ml) (5 grams)
  • Salt, 1 teaspoon (5 ml) (5 grams)
  • Black pepper, 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) (2.5 grams)
  • Mozzarella cheese balls, 12 small (about 150 grams)
  • Green olives, sliced, 6 pieces
  • Tomato sauce, 2 cups (480 ml) (480 milliliters)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, 2 tablespoons (30 ml) (8 grams)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, and milk.
  3. Add the egg and mix until well combined.
  4. Stir in Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Form the meat mixture into 12 equal-sized balls.
  6. Place a mozzarella cheese ball in the center of each meatball, enclosing it completely.
  7. Arrange the meatballs on a baking sheet.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  9. While meatballs bake, heat tomato sauce in a saucepan over medium heat.
  10. After 15 minutes, remove meatballs from the oven.
  11. Pour heated tomato sauce over the meatballs.
  12. Place a slice of black olive on each meatball to resemble an eyeball.
  13. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  14. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
  15. Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
