Description

A delightful layers of Yukon Gold potatoes drizzled with a savory balsamic mixture, perfect for family gatherings and comforting dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Optional: Parmesan cheese for a savory twist

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease your baking dish with a light coating of oil.
  2. Slice the Yukon Gold potatoes into thin rounds, aiming for even thickness.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the balsamic vinegar, olive oil, minced garlic, chopped thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Layer the sliced potatoes in the greased dish. After placing each layer, brush it with the balsamic mixture to infuse flavor.
  5. Once you have multiple layers, cover the dish with foil. Let it bake for 45 minutes.
  6. After 45 minutes, remove the foil and bake for another 15 to 20 minutes for a golden, crispy top.
  7. Once baked, let the dish rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving to enhance the flavors.

Notes

For added flavor, let the balsamic mixture marinate for an hour before assembling the torte. Use parchment paper under the foil to prevent sticking.
