- 150 g grated cheese (e.g., Gouda or Cheddar)
- 1 egg
- 50 g breadcrumbs
- 30 g flour
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
- Salt, pepper, and nutmeg to taste
- 50 g breadcrumbs (for coating)
- 2 tablespoons oil for brushing or frying
Instructions
- Cut the broccoli into small florets and boil or steam them in lightly salted water for approximately five minutes. Once softened, drain and let cool before chopping finely.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the finely chopped broccoli with cheese, egg, breadcrumbs, flour, onion, garlic, and your preferred seasonings. Mix everything until a moldable mixture forms.
- Shape the mixture into small nuggets and roll them in breadcrumbs for a crispy exterior.
- Place the nuggets on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Brush lightly with oil to enhance crunchiness. Bake at 200 °C for around 20 minutes, flipping them halfway through for even browning.
- Alternatively, pan-fry the nuggets in a skillet with a bit of oil over medium heat until golden brown on both sides.
