Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Chopped green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  3. Dip each chicken piece into the flour mixture, then into the beaten egg, and finally coat with cornstarch.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or deep frying pan over medium-high heat to about 350°F (175°C).
  5. Carefully add the coated chicken pieces to the hot oil, cooking until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Remove the chicken from the oil and let it drain on a paper towel.
  7. In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and minced garlic. Heat over low flame until warm.
  8. Toss the fried chicken pieces in a bowl with the warm honey sauce to coat evenly.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, marinate the chicken in soy sauce and garlic for 30 minutes before breading. Fry in smaller batches to maintain oil temperature and crispiness.
