Description
Perfectly crispy chicken cutlets drizzled with spicy hot honey and topped with tangy feta cheese. A delicious combination of sweet, spicy and savory flavors in every bite.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons hot sauce
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Pound chicken breasts to an even 1/2-inch thickness, then cut each breast in half to make 8 cutlets.
- Set up breading station: In one bowl, combine flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. In second bowl, whisk eggs and milk. Place panko breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
- Dredge each chicken piece in flour mixture, then egg wash, then coat with breadcrumbs. Let breaded chicken rest 5-10 minutes.
- Heat oil in a large skillet to 350-375°F. Fry chicken in batches for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- While chicken cooks, make hot honey sauce by combining honey, hot sauce, and butter in a small saucepan. Warm over low heat until butter melts and mixture is well combined.
- Transfer cooked chicken to a wire rack or paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Drizzle hot honey mixture over chicken, then sprinkle with crumbled feta cheese and chopped parsley. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra spicy hot honey, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
- You can substitute chicken tenders for a quicker cooking option.
- The chicken can be baked instead of fried for a lighter version.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
