Description

Delicious and crispy sticky tofu marinated in a sweet and spicy sauce, perfect for impressing your guests.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 11 oz (300 g) extra firm tofu
  • 3 tablespoons sweet soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 12 garlic cloves, grated
  • ½ tablespoon red pepper flakes
  • 4 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 34 tablespoons oil (for frying)
  • Garnishments: Sesame seeds or chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Drain and press the tofu to extract excess moisture.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together sweet soy sauce, rice vinegar, grated garlic, red pepper flakes, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, and 3 tablespoons of water until smooth.
  3. Slice the pressed tofu into triangles or cubes.
  4. Coat the tofu pieces in the remaining cornstarch.
  5. In a non-stick pan, heat 3 tablespoons of oil over medium-high heat.
  6. Add the tofu in a single layer to the pan and fry until golden brown.
  7. Pour the marinade into the pan and quickly turn each piece to coat.
  8. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with sesame seeds or green onions.

Notes

Serve with rice or stir-fried vegetables for a complete meal. Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in an air fryer for best crispiness.
