Ingredients

  • Firm tofu
  • 23 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 23 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • 23 medium potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup milk or plant-based milk
  • Optional: gravy or greens for serving

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture, then cut into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a bowl, mix minced garlic, soy sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Marinate the tofu for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the marinated tofu and pan-sear until golden brown on all sides.
  4. Boil the potatoes until tender, then drain and mash them with butter and milk until creamy.
  5. Serve the crispy tofu bites with the buttery mashed potatoes and add gravy or greens if desired.

Notes

For extra crunch, coat the marinated tofu pieces in cornstarch before pan-searing.
