Description

A comforting and flavorful steak dinner with tender steak and creamy pasta.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) steak (sirloin or strip steak), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups (480 ml) heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 10 oz (280g) pasta (penne or rigatoni)
  • Fresh parsley or basil, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta until al dente according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Toss steak pieces with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak in batches for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. Reduce heat to medium. Add butter and cook onion until soft, about 3–4 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  5. Pour in heavy cream, scraping up browned bits. Add Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, and Parmesan. Simmer for 4–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Return steak to the skillet along with the cooked pasta. Toss until everything is well coated and heated through.
  7. Taste, adjust seasoning, and garnish with fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

For extra richness, consider adding a splash of broth or a dash of soy sauce to your cream sauce. Experiment with different herbs and spices for a personal touch.
