Description
A comforting and flavorful steak dinner with tender steak and creamy pasta.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) steak (sirloin or strip steak), cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups (480 ml) heavy cream
- 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 10 oz (280g) pasta (penne or rigatoni)
- Fresh parsley or basil, for garnish
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta until al dente according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Toss steak pieces with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak in batches for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium. Add butter and cook onion until soft, about 3–4 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Pour in heavy cream, scraping up browned bits. Add Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, and Parmesan. Simmer for 4–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return steak to the skillet along with the cooked pasta. Toss until everything is well coated and heated through.
- Taste, adjust seasoning, and garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
Notes
For extra richness, consider adding a splash of broth or a dash of soy sauce to your cream sauce. Experiment with different herbs and spices for a personal touch.
