Description
A comforting dish featuring rich hamburger gravy over creamy mashed potatoes, perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 cups mashed potatoes (made from about 2 lbs of potatoes)
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain any excess grease.
- Add the diced onions and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onions are tender, about 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle the flour over the meat mixture and stir for about 2 minutes to combine.
- Gradually add the beef broth while stirring to prevent lumps. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer until thickened.
- Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and season with salt and pepper. Simmer for another 5 minutes for flavors to meld.
- Serve the rich gravy generously over warm mashed potatoes.
Notes
For deeper flavor, let the gravy simmer a bit longer. Adjust seasoning to taste and experiment with additional spices as desired.
