Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted (for filling)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 2 tbsp milk (for icing)
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan thoroughly.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the wet ingredients: milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Blend the wet ingredients into the dry mixture until just combined.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon filling ingredients: melted butter, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon.
  6. Layer half of the batter into the greased loaf pan, then sprinkle half of the cinnamon filling over it. Repeat the layering process.
  7. With a knife, swirl through the batter to create a marbled effect.
  8. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. To prepare the icing, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and additional vanilla extract.
  10. Allow the bread to cool before drizzling the icing over the top.

Notes

For a unique twist, consider adding nuts or raisins to the batter.
