Ingredients
Scale
- 2 TBSP (30 ml) yeast
- 1 cup (240 ml) warm water
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) sugar
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) salt
- 1 stick butter melted
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) warm milk
- 2 egg yolks
- 4 1/2 cup (1080 ml) s all-purpose flour I used Baker’s Rose flour
- 3 cup (720 ml) s powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) water
- 1/4 tsp (1 ml) vanillin vanilla sugar
Instructions
- In a stand mixer’s bowl, combine the yeast, warm water, and a teaspoon of sugar, allowing it to sit for 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- Incorporate the remaining sugar, salt, warm milk, melted butter, and egg yolks, then add the flour and blend on low until a dough forms. Knead for 5 minutes until tacky, then place in a greased bowl and let it rise for an hour in a warm spot.
- Move the dough to a surface dusted with flour and roll it out to about 1/2-inch thickness, forming an oval roughly 17 inches long.
- Use a 3.5-inch donut cutter to cut out donuts, re-rolling scraps to use up all the dough, and let the donuts rise for another 20-30 minutes.
- In a medium frying pan, heat 2-3 cups of oil on medium-low, frying the donuts until each side is lightly golden. Place them on paper towels, frying 3-4 donuts at a time.
- Mix the ingredients for the glaze and dip the freshly fried donuts into it. ENJOY.
