A comforting casserole with layers of creamy potatoes, seasoned ground beef, and melted cheese, perfect for weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: garlic powder and paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef and onion over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, pepper, and any additional seasonings.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish. Spread half of the beef mixture over the potatoes, then add half of the soup mixture.
  5. Sprinkle one cup of cheese on top.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients, ending with a layer of cheese on top.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes
