- ½ cup white sugar

- 2¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Optional: 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Cream together softened butter and sugars until light and fluffy
- Beat in eggs and vanilla extract until well combined
- Mix in dry ingredients until just incorporated
- Chill dough for at least 2 hours
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
- Roll dough into balls and place on lined baking sheets
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden
- Let cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring
Notes
- For vegan version, use coconut oil or vegan butter and flax eggs
- Dough can be chilled overnight for better results
