  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, 1/2 cup of sugar, baking powder, salt, and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon until well combined.
  3. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and fold gently until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
  5. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared loaf pan.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon. Brush the top of the batter with the remaining melted butter, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the top.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs attached.
  8. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before slicing and serving warm.
