  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) coarse ground black pepper
  • Vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons (45 ml) mayo
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) grainy mustard
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) chili sauce, the Western kind
  • 3 buns
  • Lettuce & tomato for serving

Instructions

  1. Place the beef, sour cream, ranch dressing powder, crumbled beef strips, cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl, and stir them together thoroughly, being careful not to overmix the meat.
  2. Preheat a griddle or cast iron skillet to medium-high heat, lightly coat with vegetable oil, and place the patties onto the surface, cooking them until they reach your desired level of doneness; handle them gently when flipping as they are quite delicate.
  3. While the patties are cooking, blend the mayo, grainy mustard, and chili sauce in a small bowl, then set the mixture aside.
  4. Lightly toast the buns, and once the patties are cooked, assemble the burgers with the prepared sauce, along with lettuce and tomato.
