Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold, cubed)
- 3/4 cup whole milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until fully combined.
- Cut the cold butter into the dry mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add the whole milk, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead gently about five times.
- Pat the dough to a thickness of about one inch and cut out rounds with a biscuit cutter.
- Place them on a greased baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
For best results, use very cold butter and handle the dough as little as possible. Sift the dry ingredients to ensure a lighter biscuit.
