  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 24 tablespoons milk (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the sugar and yeast in the warm butter and milk mixture. Let it rest, covered with a towel, for ten minutes.
  2. Add the egg, salt, and vanilla extract once the yeast is foamy.
  3. Incorporate flour gradually until a soft, slightly tacky dough forms.
  4. Knead and form the dough into a ball, then cover it to proof in a warm place.
  5. Mix softened butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract for the filling.
  6. Roll out the dough, spread the filling, and roll it up tightly.
  7. Cut into even slices and place them in a baking pan.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes.
  9. Let cool on a wire rack before topping with cream cheese icing.

Notes

For uniform size rolls, pre-mark your slices before cutting. Experiment with different fillings for variety.
