Description

A comforting and nostalgic Salisbury steak dish featuring seasoned ground beef patties smothered in rich mushroom gravy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Shape the mixture into patties.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add patties and brown on both sides. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add mushrooms and sauté until soft.
  4. Stir in flour and cook for a minute. Slowly add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring until the gravy thickens.
  5. Return patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Serve hot.

Notes

For added flavor, consider incorporating herbs like thyme or parsley in the gravy. Don’t overmix the beef to avoid dense patties.
