Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cup (480 ml) s all-purpose Flour
- 4 Tbsp (60 ml) granulated Sugar
- 4 tsp (20 ml) Baking Powder
- 1/4 tsp (1 ml) Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) Salt
- 1 3/4 cup (420 ml) s Milk
- 4 Tbsp (60 ml) unsalted Butter melted
- 2 tsp (10 ml) pure Vanilla Extract
- 1 large Egg
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Create a hollow in the center and pour in the milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and egg.
- Stir the mixture until it’s smooth, though a few lumps are okay. The batter will be thick; if you prefer it thinner, add a bit more milk to reach your desired consistency.
- Warm a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium-low heat, and grease it with butter. Use a 1/4 cup measure to pour the batter onto the skillet, spreading it into a circular shape with the back of the measuring cup.
- Once the bottom is golden and bubbles form on top, use a spatula to flip the pancake and cook the other side until it turns golden brown as well.
- Repeat the process with the remaining batter. Serve with your choice of maple syrup, honey, or fruit, and enjoy your meal!
Notes
- Cool the melted butter slightly before combining with milk and eggs to avoid cooking the egg earlynLet the batter sit for about 5 minutes post-mixing for optimal baking powder activationnIf using salted butter on the skillet, decrease salt in the batter to prevent excess saltiness
