- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup white rice
- 1 can (10.5 oz) French onion soup
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: chopped onions, garlic, or herbs for seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the French onion soup, water, and uncooked rice. Season with salt and pepper.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover to simmer for 15-20 minutes, until the rice is tender.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish and top with shredded cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Consider adding chopped onions or garlic for additional flavor. Experiment with different types of cheese for unique twists.
