- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup white rice
- 1 can French onion soup
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Swiss)
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cups beef broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Stir in the rice and cook for a minute.
- Pour in the French onion soup and beef broth, mixing well.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
- Top with shredded cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Notes
For a crispy top, broil for a minute or two after baking. Adjust cooking time as needed based on your oven.
